  The Barber of Birmingham ( see trailer ) made its second round to Birmingham after a joyous ride that included stops at the SundanceFilm Festival, the Academy Awards (nominee) and an Oscar nod for Best Short Documentary.   The Civil Rights Singers + Robyn Fryday (Co producer of the film) + Birmingham's Shirley Gavin Floyd Photo on right: An impassioned foot soldier describes the hardships of life during the Civil Rights Era. He explains to the students how demeaning it was to be called names and your only response be "Yes sir"... In the midst of THIS story an apologetic retired white police officer turns to interject--- "Wait, wait! Let ME speak", the angry foot soldier demands... At the second viewing of this film, Birmingham high school students were invited to the Carver Theater.  A wide range of emotions spread across the auditorium as the film neared its end. The students reactions seem to vary from a rumble of chuckles from Mr. Arms
