Family Portraits...

Image
SO doing portraits of the family... the timer and the dog were my NEMESIS!!! I just had to laugh... So a friend came in to assist and I tell you B Jeter was a GODSEND! Next time I will of course, bring treats-bring LOTS of treats. I think they came out pretty decently... I love seeing us together! I will definitely have to do this more often:-)

A HERO!

Image
The night starts off with a prayer... A foray into the woods and back roads of Alabama (with guide, Jarmar of Cultureshock) brought Team Johnson into the midst of A Hero's Celebration. A H.E.R.O (actually) America's Heroes Enjoying Recreation Outdoors becomes an outlet for wounded veterans. A support group that takes vets on hunting and fishing expeditions. So how does a paraplegic hunt, you may ask? Mr. Holmes demonstrates his all titanium gun rig with a straw operated trigger. The crowd giggles along with him as he also points to his beer straw. He chuckles and explains how he has to remember which straw is which! A small screen serves as his sight. Window Kitty

I love shooting in the studio but I would love to get back to the simple shooting that I call, 'drive-by photography'. Saturday, Jan 26th...no one wants to leave the house with me so I head off, camera in hand. A free couple of hours to drive AAALLLL around Birmingham, Alabama... ...and all I shot was this cat. A BEAUTIFUL cat nonetheless... BUT, just a cat!! Bwaahahhahaa... --mnj

SNOWY DAYs in Black and White

Image
I thought I would share these as an ode to to how beautiful weather can be... I have seen its treachery, but I stand in awe of the quiet, breathtaking grace that can only a snowy day can provide. Now, I'm from the South and I happily return there. I appreciate the snow (and cold)--but not for long:)  Anderson, IN/12.26.2012-01.03.2012 I chose black and white, because it breaks everything down to its simplistic form... Add caption I added these black and whites, just BECAUSE!  There were eight of us in the house so scrambling eggs for breakfast brought about the need for a flat of eggs. A dozen just would NOT have done it. So this last pic is simply in honor of breakfast! SOOoo unbelievably, it decides to snow in ALABAMA on January 17, 2013. It was a huge blinding blizzard that lasted all of about an hour. There was SOME accumulation and with Canon in hand off I went... I left the apartments in Homewo...
